Monan Ma

Final-year Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical

Engineering at Boston University

My doctoral projects involve hardware and software components and focus on (i) improving the sensing resolution of nanoscale devices, (ii) developing multi-physics finite-element models, and (iii) physics-informed machine learning for nonlinear systems. A high-level overview of my work and background can be found in this news article.

In the summer of 2025, I was a graduate intern at the Aramco Research Center in Houston, Texas. At Aramco, I worked on sensor development for real-time monitoring of oil drilling fluids. I completed my B.E. and M.S. degrees magna cum laude at Stony Brook University in New York.

I am actively seeking Postdoctoral Fellowships, Industry R&D positions, and Assistant Professorships, with start dates in Summer or Fall 2026. A link to my CV is below.
